Lanie's First Christmas

Number One Auntie...sorry Becky!
Grandpa Kinyon...oops...I mean Santa. Lanie was cool with it for a couple of minutes then cried.

How cute is this step stool??

My cousin, Sal Ray.

All dressed up on Christmas Eve. She is constantly moving. That is way they all always blurry.

We haven't spent much time at home in the last couple of days, not fun during nap times. We had a really nice holiday. Lanie was spoiled of course. We all were. Thanks for all the great gifts. The best part was family time though. It is tons of fun to watch Lanie and Sal Ray interact.

All smiles!

She's always a busy body; squirming, trying to sit up and rolling around.

Christmas Card

This picture was the second runner up for this year's card. The apple doesn't fall from the tree, does it Lanie?? I swear she will be good once she gets to preschool!

Yum!

Pffff

I love sitting up!!
Lanie ate her first full serving of rice cereal this morning. It wasn't even that messy. Feeding her solids is definitely going to be an interesting change in our schedules though.

5 Months

Lanie is five months old today and doing really well. She rolls from her back to front like a champ but gets real mad because she hasn't figured out how to roll back again. Hence, the picture above. This is how I found her this morning in the crib. She also loves to try to sit up. She can sit up all by her lonesome...briefly...then she topples over. She loves to try though. We are anxiously waiting for Christmas break...then we get to spend 16 days together!! Yippee!!

My future's so bright...I gotta wear shades!!

Lanie's Recliner

Lanie and Buzz spending some quality time together. About two minutes after this picture was taken, the door bell rang...needless to say Lanie was left in the dust by Buzz. LOL!

Snow, snow, snow and more snow

Weeeeeeeee!
After a two hour commute today, I couldn't think of anything better than suiting my little Lanie up for her first true snow fall this afternoon. My dad gave her the sled and my mom gave her a snow suit. Too cute! The boys had a blast as well.

She loves jumping in this thing!

Top Ten

The Kinyon's Top Ten List of Things We are Thankful for this Year:

1. Three years of marriage

-Yesterday was our three year wedding anniversary. We obviously are parents now...we talked about Lanie way too much, went Christmas shopping, then had a super sushi dinner at Mt. Fuji and were home by 7:30.

2. Our beautiful daughter, Lanie

-She makes us smile everyday. I just love all the new things she is doing. I can't imagine life without her. I can't wait to have another.

3. Our family

-We are lucky to have Abby here visiting from MN. We are also going to be an aunt and uncle again. Courtney's and Cale's due date is July 14. Lanie and her new cousin will be exactly a year apart. It is really nice to have all of our parents within a 20 mile radius.

4. Our friends

-We have some SUPER FANTABULOUS FRIENDS!! We are really thankful for all the great laughs and good times! We have truly made such amazing friends along the way. Yesterday, I was reminded. Elizabeth and I hung out and made some cards for her birthday (only two months late, oops) and shared tons of laughs.

5. Our jobs

-We all complain some days but in these tough economic times we are truly grateful to have steady jobs that really aren't that bad and they pay the bills.

6. Vacation days

-This is our time to sleep in...yet I don't because Lanie gets up and I can't wait to see her smiling face in the morning. I really treasure our time together on my days off from school. This summer is going to be so much fun!

7. Our health

8. Memories
9. Happiness
10. The not so important stuff in the long run of life
-For instance, having the Internet, closets full of clothes, cars we drive, all of Lanie's baby equipment, and basically all the "stuff" that fills the house. In the end, we will not remember all this "stuff", we will remember numbers 1-9 but I am still thankful that we have it.
Happy Thanksgiving!

A trip to P-Town

Watch what I can do, Lily!
John and Grace

We made a trip down to Pueblo yesterday to visit some greats friends, The Niberts. We met their new addition, Lily Adele, who is now six weeks old. Even though it was such a short time ago it is hard to imagine that Lanie was once that small. Lily is just tiny. Grace is growing up so fast and is a lot of fun!
Lanie has been pretty active lately, rolling over. The problem is she doesn't like her tummy much but has yet to figure out how to get back over and she gets all pissed. I love watching her. She was also laughing out loud when I tickled her belly this afternoon. Oh, boy! She makes us so happy!

I watched Miss Lanie roll from her back to her front tonight! Pretty cool!

30 Pounds of Baby

Those are some heavy babies!

Let's hold hands...

On Saturday, Lanie and I babysat Kyler so his parents could go have some fun at the CSU game. It was fun but boy it is tough to get things done around the house. Most of the day they were on the same napping schedule so that helps but I can't imagine what you would do if they were both screaming their heads off at the same time. Luckily, both of them are content babies. I don't know how parents with twins do it!

4 months

Grandma Kinyon, Sal Ray, Uncle Ray and Lanie.

The best auntie ever!!

Abby, Lanie, Kyler and Luke
July and November
Lanie had a play date with the Urich's and the Penn's last weekend.

Miss Lanie is four months old today!! Time has flown by. She is growing so fast. I just can't believe it. This time last year John and I found out that we were having a baby. I can't believe it has been a year already. It is time to start making another one...ha ha. Just kidding. I think we will at least wait until the spring. I will have to get Lanie stats tomorrow night. Her car seat is definitely getting super heavy. We go to the doctor on Friday for her next round of shots.

I love to bouncy, bouncy, bounce, bounce!

Fun in Phoenix

Auntie Becky, Mary and little Sal Ray

Get off me!  Look Sal I can sit on you too!!

Look at these adorable babies!!  Little Sal is six weeks and isn't much smaller than Lanie.  His feet and hands are about the same size as Lanie's.

John's cousin, Darren and his wife Kristi, stopped by on Sunday. Colorado was the first stop on their fourth month long trip to Asia. I wish them all the best. I couldn't handle four months on the road. I secretly hope they are going to appear on the Amazing Race. They deny it but I suppose they couldn't tell us even if they wanted to. How fun would that be??!! And yes Darren is SUPER tall.

Lanie carved some pumpkins with Grandma.

John got Lanie dressed this morning. A blue and white Denver Nuggets onesie and pink pants....pretty sweet outfit, Dad!

We are off to Phoenix on Friday to meet little Sal Ray. They have decided to call him Sal not quad, four, and sadly not baby Ray Ray. I am pretty excited to go. Lanie will meet her new first cousin!
