Toys! Why buy toys??

Yes, watch out! We have a climber on our hands!!

Why buy toys when her favorite things to play with are 1. The stroller 2. Her winter hat 3. The dog kennels. She just loves that hat. She brings it to me to put it on her all the time. She has also brought me books that she wants me to read to her. That makes this teacher real happy!!

Splish Splashin' at the Pool!

Lanie made her first trip to the swimming pool today and loved it. She was very busy watching all the kids splashing around her. She had a hat on but loves to rip it off and toss it. Same with sunglasses. It was a fun day!

Mommy's First Mother's Day


Hope you all had a wonderful mother's day. I know that I did. Lanie is now 10 months old and so much fun. For instance, last night she decided to take the heating vent out of the floor and just as John scooped her up, she kicked a toy ball into the hole...going, going, gone. Umm...I don't know how you get stuff out of the vents. She also loves to get into the kitchen drawers to take all of the containers out. Toys? Why do we buy toys? She sure keeps us on our toes. My new news at work is that I will be teaching Kindergarten next year. It will be interesting and a definite change. I will be taking some classes this summer to figure out what the heck they do in Kinder. No, it is not all coloring, naps and recess. I do know that. I know it will be a challenge I look forward to learning some new things.

Lanie is growing so fast and changing before our eyes. The latest...she is into everything. Weird, I know. Her new favorite treat: dog food. She has gotten into it three times and is not very happy when we struggle to get it out of her mouth. In a couple of years when she refuses to eat her vegetables, I will ask her if she would prefer some kibbles and bits. I am sure she will be mortified to find out that she once thought dog food was a tasty treat.
