Last Thursday night was the 90
th birthday celebration for Cameron. The staff put together wonderful displays and a program to celebrate the 90 years and to say good bye to our closing school. There were hundreds of people there. It was
wonderful! Although the best part for me was seeing a student from the very first class that I ever taught.
In 2001, I got my first teaching job at Cameron teaching 4
th grade. I was young, inexperienced and I am not sure how I made it through that first year. I had a sweet student named Kristen Adams in my class (fun too because my last name was Adams). After all these years she remembered me saying that I wanted to go the high school graduations of the class. Eight years later, she is about to graduate what do I get...a graduation announcement on my desk from Kristen. I am so proud of her and this is reason why teaching is such a rewarding profession!
