8 Weeks

8 Weeks and he is a happy baby!! We are so lucky!! He is sleeping 4-5 hours straight a night. We head to the doctor next week for his two month well baby check.
Collin loves to kick, kick, kick! Lanie likes to join him.

Last Thursday night was the 90th birthday celebration for Cameron. The staff put together wonderful displays and a program to celebrate the 90 years and to say good bye to our closing school. There were hundreds of people there. It was wonderful! Although the best part for me was seeing a student from the very first class that I ever taught.

In 2001, I got my first teaching job at Cameron teaching 4th grade. I was young, inexperienced and I am not sure how I made it through that first year. I had a sweet student named Kristen Adams in my class (fun too because my last name was Adams). After all these years she remembered me saying that I wanted to go the high school graduations of the class. Eight years later, she is about to graduate what do I get...a graduation announcement on my desk from Kristen. I am so proud of her and this is reason why teaching is such a rewarding profession!

5 Weeks

5 weeks

He is growing fast and it seems that he really wants to eat every two hours during the day. We really need to get more serious and strict about his Baby Wise schedule so that he starts sleeping longer at night. I am exhausted. Last night was a long night. We were up from 2:30-4:00. He is really good during the day, not so bad at night, and only cries when he is hungry or wants to be held.
Lanie loves her brother. She says, "Baby Collin" and "Baby Brother" all the time. It is cute.

Miss Lanie has been getting into things a lot more lately. She pushed her high chair over to the door so she could try open it for the dogs, so thoughtful. She has also learned how to twist the caps off of bottles so this morning she got into the baby lotion and it got all over the carpet. She figured out if she pushes a chair over to the stools that she can climb onto the stools. Stinker!! If it is quiet for more than 30 seconds, she is either into something or has snuck her bink again. LOL!
