25 Weeks

Lanie is estimated at weighing one pound, nine ounces, and measures 22 centimeters crown-to-rump. Her ears are fully functional now, and she may even blink in reaction to a loud noise. She is also quite active at all times of the day even when I am trying to sleep. Sometimes you can even see my belly move. I went to the doctor yesterday for a rountine pre-natal visit. I listened to her heartbeat (153bpm) and he measured my uterus (25cm). Everything was normal!! :)Then I went to get my test for gestational diabetes. We should find out the results in a couple of weeks. I am sure it will be fine. Only 3% of woman develop it. Otherwise, I really can't complain. Life is going quite well!

24 Weeks

This weekend we were in Phoenix for Mary and Ray's wedding. We had a lovely time. The weather is perfect this time of year. We even had a chance to sit by the pool for a bit on Sunday. Here's a couple of pics from the trip...
Little Lanie was very active all day Friday and Saturday!

23 Weeks

Our baby is now about 20 centimeters crown-to-rump and hovering around or little over the one pound mark since she was 15 ounces at our 20 week ultrasound. Our baby's lungs have begun to develop surfactant, a substance that will help her lungs to expand following birth. Her fingernails are now completely formed.
John is sporting a sweet t-shirt that he has had since high school and is showing off his baby belly. He has actually lost weight since he began working as a milk man. So unlike me...he is pushing his belly out.

Baby is kicking!

My baby daddy finally got to feel his little girl kick, punch or just plain wiggle last night. We both thought it was pretty exciting!

22 Weeks

Well, our little girl sure is growing. I guess I don't notice how big my belly is getting until John takes my picture. She sure is moving around a lot lately, too. I love it!! I am really excited for John to be able to feel her. So John was super motivated and painted the nursery last night. What an ambitious daddy! I think it looks real nice although it seems bit bright but I think once we get the furniture put back and some decorations on the walls it be perfect. I just hope that our little Lanie Kay likes it. Oh, yeah...we decided to name her Lanie Kay. We have always liked that name and Kay is both Glenda and Chuck's middle name. I think it has a nice ring to it...
Lanie Kay Kinyon. Yep! That's our little girl! So there is one big decision down. :)

Crib Assembly

Thought we would get the crib put together so it would be easier to paint. John did most of the work. I did a lot of holding and watching! :)

We chose the Lullaby Green color the baby's nursery. It is the top color.

21 Weeks

John and I looked at names for our baby girl today. It was overwhelming and exhausting. We had to stop and take a nap. :) It isn't easy thinking of a name that some will have forever. She has been moving around at all times of the day. I am lucky she decides to sleep when I sleep because that will not last forever. We also bought paint for the nursery today. I suppose we will start painting next weekend.
