SEVEN WEEKS OLD

Sleepy girl in her swing.
Momma & Sleepy Baby Girl Lanie

Mom is here and it is a big help. I was able to go to work today and get some things done before I start on Tuesday. I all of the sudden realized that I think Lanie HAS grown a bunch recently. It is amazing how much they just change in front your eyes and unless you pay close attention you don't notice. To top it off she is ALREADY SEVEN WEEKS OLD!!

We love our dogs!

I love my Auntie Becky!

We had another amazing night of sleep. Lanie didn't nap very well yesterday, I think that has something to do with it. Tomorrow my mom will officially be a Coloradoan! She will leave MN behind to live closer so she doesn't miss out on all the cool stuff Lanie is doing. Some of that cool stuff includes: cooing, smiling, turning her head to follow my voice (she did that last night!), cuddling and all the other stuff that is coming up . Hopefully Abby will change her mind and come join us in this great state!

Roly Poly Baby

When I put her down this morning, she was on her back. When I went to check on her, she was on her side. Exciting!!

Momma's Good Little Sleeper

I am serious Momma!Just Kiddin' Momma :)
We have had three consecutive nights of good sleep, 6 + hour long stretches. Lanie didn't wake up until 4:45 this morning. Knock on wood...I hope this continues. It will be perfect for me when I have to go back to work. She is just so sweet and great. I love her so much!

Baby, I was born to run.

Lanie had her best night of sleep last night 9:30-4:30!! It was great. John fed her at 4:30. I had my first full night of rest in six weeks. Last night, we had some yummy dinner with the Urich's. It is so much fun to have the babies together. Kyler weighs almost three pounds more than Lanie. He feels so heavy compared to her. It was cute...he was reaching over and touching her. They sure are good little kickers. Lanie can really get her arms and legs going....probably why she sleep so well. She was plain worn out.

We want milk, we want milk!

The next Olympians!

I am not a boy!

I found the onesie that Cathy gave Lanie that would clear up any doubt from strangers. Unfortunately, it is size 3-6 months so it is still too big. We will have to wait a little while to wear it.
Oink, Oink! Lanie seems to love bath time. She is always happy during tubby time. She only fusses when she has to get out but is all better once she is wrapped up in her piggy towel.
Chip is on top of the world and loves to hang out in Lanie's room with Lanie and I. His new favorite place to lie is my make shift foot stool.
Lanie is six weeks today!! Wow!

Lanie first trip to Boulder's Famous Pearl Street
Happy Birthday to Auntie Becky!
Heather, Lanie & Becky

Abby, my mom and Abby's friend were out to CO this week. My mom says that Lanie has changed a lot in the last couple of weeks. I think she looks the same but I look at her cute little face all day, everyday so I guess it is hard to see the changes. We made a trip over to Boulder yesterday to cruise around Pearl Street. A man commented on how cute he is and how old is he. I guess the pink outfit isn't enough of an indicator of gender so perhaps we will give him the benefit of the doubt...he is color blind.
Lanie now weighs nine pounds, five ounces. The car seat is getting harder to carry everyday. She still has been such a content baby. She loves to chill out in her crib or hang out in her bouncer. She has also started smiling at us. It is wonderful!

Auntie Abby is here from MN to visit Lanie.

Lanie looks like Steve Urkel (mean mother...I know). I can't help but laugh though.

Here is a picture of me when I was a couple of months old. Finally...a resemblance between that kid and her momma.

Rain, Rain, go away...

It has been raining cats and dogs here the last two days. We welcome the moisture but it is annoying to go out and about. It was really cold these last two days (50 degrees). We only have two long sleeve shirts for her. I am going to get her some warm clothes tomorrow. All is well!

First Day of School

Lanie's new toy

I went to work for the first day of school today. I have to say that as of right now, I am not very excited to go back. The changes are going to take some getting used to. I really miss working with the older kids and I dearly miss working with Elizabeth. I knew I didn't have to worry about Lanie so that part was easy. I am sure it will all work out in the end. For now, I will just enjoy the time I have left at home with my sweet baby girl.

Mommy & Lanie's Big Day

I just love her little toes...
and her little fingers!
Yum! Lunch!
I went to work for the first day since Lanie was born and Lanie went to G & G's for the very first full day. I went four whole weeks without being away from Lanie for more than 15 minutes (I walked the dogs one day while my mom was here). I was real worried about leaving her but it all turned out to be fine. Grandpa did a great job...I'm sure she was barely held ;) I will go to work on Thursday for the first day of school and then we will have two more weeks together.

Baby Momma Loves Maury

Anyone who knows me, knows that I just love to watch Maury during the summer. When it comes to three week old Lanie...JOHN, YOU ARE THE FATHER. I just can't get enough of those paternity test shows. On his website there is Maury's Baby Maker. You upload your pictures and they combine them to make a baby face. I thought it would be fun...thank goodness Lanie turned out better looking then this kid. That is some funny crap!!

All is well with Chip. The Vet took the stitches out and said his foot should heal up just fine. Lanie got weighed today... 8 pounds, 8 ounces. The nurse said she is doing fine, weight gain wise, so I am satisfied. We have a pretty happy baby. We are really lucky!

Lovin' my pacifier

Lanie spit up inside my shirt today. It ran all down the front of my chest....too funny! Chip goes to the vet tomorrow to get the stitches out of his foot. I hope we will be able to get rid of that annoying collar. I am tired of him running into me and everything else.

Tummy time on my surfboard mat

Momma's Little Angel

Our first trip out of town went off without a hitch. The only problem...it was over 100 degrees in Pueblo all weekend. On Saturday, it was 108. Yuck! We quickly traveled from one air conditioned environment to the next. Seriously, how do people live in the South...poor Mary and Ray. Lanie was very well behaved all weekend. On Friday, Daddy went golfing in Canon City(crazy, I know) and the girls visited some family friends. Then we headed over the Pueblo to have supper with the Niberts. Saturday, we spent some more time with Tony, Lindsay and Grace then went to Billy and Marci's wedding in Penrose. Thankfully, the clouds came in and they had a nice big tent for their outdoor wedding. Lanie did smashingly. Yep, she sleep through the whole ceremony and only woke to eat. I think that the heat helped. It is awfully hard not to get sleepy when it is so stinking hot! I was really ready to head home this morning. We spent entirely too much time in the car. Thanks to my sister, Stacy, for staying with the boys. Poor Chip has to wear a cone and hasn't figured out how to close he can get to anything. He constantly runs into us....poor little guy.
