Best Day Ever as Lanie Would Say!

Today is my sister-in-law Becky’s 30th birthday.  Happy birthday Becky!  As a surprise Mary decided to make a trip to Co to visit.  That meant a great opportunity to get the kids photographed (Bella was not pleased but was definitely cute) and lots of fun family time.  We hung out, made a trip to Chuck E. Cheese, the kids had a slumber party at Papa & GG’s, John and I got a date night, all of the kids did a little performance at church and then we ended the weekend with lunch at the White Fence Farm.  On a side note, teachers receive half of their entrees everyday there! Yahoo!  The kids loved feeding the animals and running around the grounds.  It was a pretty awesome weekend!!

Sillies

Collin loves to wear Lanie's rain boots and for some reason he wears my slipper socks inside of them.  He is a goof and has so much personality!
Yesterday, we went to the Milliken Beef and Bean Day parade.  It was a lot of fun.  Home Depot passed out aprons. I thought it was only appropriate that he wear his apron while he and Lanie helped Daddy make breakfast.

Last Year
8/12/11

On Friday, August 10, I had to head back to work full-time again and that means the kids are also back to Sheri’s full-time.  I really like the tradition of taking a picture of them on the steps each year.  They grow and change so fast!  When we got home that night, all three of us were exhausted.  Lanie was crabby, Collin was crabby and in turn, I was crabby!  We all like our routine so it will be nice to be back into the swing of things but I sure do miss all the quality time with my babies.  We had some great times together this summer!

Farm Fun

We made a trip to the Lee Martinez Farm in Fort Collins on Tuesday to see some farm animals.  Lanie was very excited to feed all the animals with Aunt Becky while Collin just stood back and took it all in.  Collin’s favorite part of the trip was riding the tractor.  Lanie and Becky’s favorite part was when the goat grabbed the paper bag full of oats out of Lanie’s hand and ate it all!

Fun on the Homefront!

Collin got a hold of the hose the other night and held Lanie and I hostage in the house.

The kids are practicing their golf swings in the front yard.  We have been trying to make a habit of playing outside for an hour or so each night.  Collin is beginning to take an interest in riding his tricycle, finally!

Collin's Big Boy Bed!

For some reason, unknown to us, Collin has wanted to sleep on the floor for the last few months.  It is so strange especially when he had a perfectly good little toddler bed.  Today, I decided, was the day.  We would give him a real bed.  I hope he sleeps in it and I am excited because it is much more comfortable to lie in a bed to read books at bedtime!  Dad likes it too!

Little Friends

Today our good friends, Cherylynn, Henry and Josie came over for a visit.  We all had a lovely time holding babies.  Cherylynn is quite the mom...she fed both babies and read a book to my kids, all at the same time.  Impressive!!
