This past week, John and I were lucky enough to take a vacation to Mexico without the kids. We have our terrific parents to thank for that! Without them, our trip would not have been possible. John's parents took the kids during the day and my Mom had them every night. I know the two kids are a lot of work and we appreciate all the work they did to take care of them. Love you!

Beach @ the
Iberostar Paraiso del Mar

We pretty much spent all morning at the beach and a couple of hours in the afternoon at the pool. John enjoyed two rounds of golf while we were there although he said that the humidity, wind and heat made it difficult to play.

Our trip was pretty relaxing and laid back except early in the week we all took out a catamaran boat like you see in the background. Nate has sailed before so I didn't think anything of it. We went out for fifteen minutes and it was fun. As we were coming back into the shore it was a little choppy and there were a couple of pretty big waves. Nate says let's ride this big wave right on the beach....bad idea! The wave threw us up in the air and the boat sideways. John and I managed to stay on but Nate and Vanessa fell off. Every five to ten seconds another wave came and I watched as the boat nearly crashed into the Burns. Thankfully no one was seriously hurt. I was the only one who got bruises and the only thing the ocean took were two pairs of sunglasses and a hat.
At home, a lot more was going on...poor Collin got croup and an ear infection. He had to make a trip to the doctor. On Thursday night, our friends Nate and Vanessa had their house broken into. Super scary since their kids and mom were staying there. Luckily no one was hurt and nothing was taken. Then last night I went down to the deep freeze in our basement to find it not working and all of our meat rotting. Boo! All of our delicious bison is gone...sad, sad day! Then I got an extra day of spring break as I had to take Lanie to the doctor for an ear infection on Monday. I hope we are finally on the mend!!
