An unwanted guest!

Tub Time
Lanie loves her baths!!
High five, Lanie!

Our deck is DONE! Lanie loves playing on it.

Our unwanted guest, Mr. Mouse. Somehow got himself into the window well, chewed his way through my screen and then was stuck between the screen and window. I sprayed him with the hose and he hopped out. Now he must figure out how to climb out of the window well....BUT I JUST LOOKED AT THE WINDOW AND HE IS BACK!!! Darn those mice. Unfortunately, now I may have to exterminate him.

One little monkey jumping on the bed

My little Monkey
She managed to climb up onto the guest bed and was jumping. Naughty, naughty baby.

Our deck...we hope to be sitting on it by the end of next weekend!
John has built all of it by himself. I am glad he hasn't asked for any help. ;)

Since Chip broke out of his old kennel we had to get him a new one. I put it together and Lanie enjoyed a nice cold drink in it.

Last weekend, we were hanging out with a celeb from the show Greensburg, John's uncle David. He offered to sign a napkin but we figured a picture would suffice. John's parents grew up in Greensburg, KS where the big tornado hit two years ago. Some of his family still lives there and have been in on the filming of tv show based on the rebuilding of the town. It is on the Planet Green channel if you are interested.

Goodbye Summer

Lanie loves the park. She especially loves the swings and the big slide.
I tell Lanie "Go love Buzz" and she runs after him and hugs him. She loves it and he tolerates it, sometimes. Most of the time he just runs away.

Becky and I hiked Horsetooth in Fort Collins two weekends ago. After the 5k on that Sat and the hike on Sunday, sadly I could barely walk on Monday; pretty pathetic! I must exercise more.

Today was officially my first day as Kindergarten teacher and I have to say that I am EXHAUSTED. Those kids go none stop. Here are a few of the things that could have been heard in my classroom today:

Where is my mom?
When is my mom coming back?
When are we going home? (20 times)
Teacher, Teacher
You can call me Superman.
I have to go to the bathroom. (That one is a domino effect)
I'm hungry.
I'm thirsty.
When do we get to color?
When are we going to lunch?
Please sit down. (at least 100 times)
My cousin gave me a scratch on my arm.
I don't like The Green Goblin.
This is my light saber.
In between all of this, I did manage to get a little bit of teaching in. I predict that my eighth year is going to be my most challenging thus far.

Beef and Bean Days

Lanie's first parade. Milliken's Beef and Bean Days.

Lanie's second 5k, her first one was when I was eight months pregnant.
We were two out of six walkers. We came in 30 and 31 out of 33, 49 minutes, 30 seconds. Pretty sweet. I was determined to not be last. We sure left that grandma in the dust.

Somebody has learned how to climb up on the couch even without a pillow as a step. She just loves it but it makes Daddy worry a lot.

FaMiLy FuN

Lanie's Great Grandma Jean from MN
Watch me Grandpa!

Meeting my cousin Roary for the first time.

My first bike ride with my daddy.
Lanie was not too pleased. Fortunately the second ride was more successful. We all actually enjoyed it.
