32 Weeks

This weekend was another busy one. We had our marathon Prepared Childbirth class Friday night and all day Saturday. The experience was good and I am glad we did it. There weren't too many surprises except that John didn't complain once about having to go. Weird, I know. We learned laboring techniques, toured the birth center, watched some videos and best of all saw a newborn baby girl. Oh, the second best was when John wore the sympathy belly. He had to wear the 38 pounds for over an hour. He didn't say much about it but he shifted in his chair a lot and said his butt hurt....hee hee. I wish I could have checked that thing out and made him wear it all weekend. I'm not too worried about delivery...thousands of babies are born everyday. It will be painful but holding our baby will be the reward. I am just so darn excited to meet our little baby girl...only 55 days!

Last week, my principal informed me that I will be moving to second grade next year. I will have a busy summer. I have to learn a new grade, have all new teaching partners, move my classroom, figure out how to set up a second grade classroom as well write sub plans with a newborn baby. It should all prove to be very interesting. The biggest bummer is my good buddy, Elizabeth, will going to fourth grade. I do know one of my teaching partners and she is wonderful so that will make things easier. It will all work out in the end (as my mom likes to say) and I am looking at the move positively.

The good thing about labor is there isn't a whole lot you can do about it. Once it starts, you just want it to end and really you do what you've got to do. I was induced and nearly had a nervous breakdown in the car on the way to the hopital that morning. By midnight, it was all over! Remember, you can get through 24 hours of anything!
