Back to School

There's a portion of my Promethean Board to the right, a picture I took in July. The room has been jazzed up since then.
I had a bunch of stuff that I couldn't get done at school so I brought it home. Lanie was anxious to help!

I survived my first two days teaching 3rd grade and I was actually pleasantly surprised at how well it went. After two years with Kinder kids, I forgot how WONDERFUL it is to start the year with kids who can read and write on day one!! It has taken some getting used to with new testing and curriculum but as with pretty much everything, it will all work out. So instead of thinking of all the stuff I will miss from previous years, I will look forward to teaching a great group of kids and doing my best to get them to proficient!! For those of you who don't know...gone are the days of chalk, blackboards, overhead projectors and even my dry erase marker board. Welcome to the world of technology, enter the Promethean board with capabilities that will take years to master! It is connected to the computer and does everything a computer can and more...amazing!

I am so glad that it went well. I have been thinking about you a lot the last couple of days. I miss you being across the hall from me.
